6lb Cut


 
 
For family night, we took the canoe to Koosherem reservoir with some hot dog sticks. It was a favorite pit stop for my Grandpa Greenhalgh, as it's along the highway in getting to the Boulder's. I was with the little ones paddling around the lake chasing a beaver and decided to let out some line trolling with a Jake's Spin-a-Lure as we were paddling. Coming back to the ramp cruising along the dam, my rod bent in half. At first I thought it was a snag as it all but stopped our canoe. When I grabbed the rod, which was nestled between my legs, I was surprised to learn it was a big fish. I fought this huge cutthroat bringing it to the canoe, but now, how was I going to land it? I cupped my hand under its belly and in one quick motion lifted it inside the canoe. It is my largest cutthroat to date just under 6lbs.. It was a happy memory for me and my family!
